Contraception from your pharmacy

Start or continue the contraceptive pill, or get emergency contraception, with a confidential consultation and no GP appointment needed.

Our pharmacists offer contraception advice and supply in a private, non-judgemental setting. Through the NHS Pharmacy Contraception Service, we can help you start the pill for the first time or continue a pill you already take.

The contraceptive pill

  • Start the pill without seeing your GP
  • Continue your existing pill and pick up repeat supplies
  • A blood pressure check, BMI measurement and a review of your health to make sure the pill is safe for you

Emergency contraception

Emergency contraception (sometimes called the morning-after pill) can help prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or if your usual contraception has failed. It works best the sooner it is taken. Depending on the type, it can be taken up to 3 or 5 days after unprotected sex. Our pharmacists will help you choose the most suitable option.
